Over the past few days, we saw numerous days hit above average with temperatures into the 80s with unusually high dew points. This is not seasonable for the month of October. Today, those above average temperatures continue with those high dew points. Light showers are possible this afternoon with overcast skies. Later this week, we can expect temperatures to drop into more seasonable conditions with a cold front bringing potential inclement weather.
Pennsylvania has experienced clear conditions and seasonable temperatures to start the week as a high pressure system hovers over to the North near Canada. Temperatures will be shooting up to the high 60s for today. The high pressure system to the north is expected to move into our area so clear conditions will remain persistent as we head into this weekend and expect beautiful conditions for our whiteout game against USC. Temperatures will drop into the high 40s, so it will be chilly. Our next chance for precipitation will be Sunday in the afternoon as that high pressure system moves on out to the east.
The past few days have seen a gradual warming in conditions as high pressure begins to settle nicely into the region. Since our Nor’easter, we have been dry across the region.
Today we can expect temperatures around 10-15 degrees above average with partly cloudy skies. The high pressure mentioned previously is bringing is the warmer conditions, and is expected to stink around for the rest of the day.
As we look into the weekend, we can expect a cold front to come through as we head into the evening. This front will bring us some rain from the late evening into the early morning hours. The rest of the weekend should be dry, with more seasonable temps.
Yesterday brought noticeably cooler temperatures to much of the commonwealth. Temperatures across Pennsylvania were cooler than average, with many locations seeing temperatures several degrees below normal for late September. As for today temperatures will remain on the cooler side across the Commonwealth, although a gradual warm-up is underway. Most of Pennsylvania will see highs in the 60s with warmer temperatures across the southeastern portions of the state. A gradual warming trend is expected heading into the weekend, with temperatures returning to the upper 60s and 70s across much of Pennsylvania.
Rain has been through the area since Sunday bringing temperatures to a much more average feeling this week. With this low pressure no longer near a high pressure system in Canada has brought the much needed dry weather to the Commonwealth. We are expecting clear and sunny conditions to persist through out today heading into tonight and tomorrow. Heading into the weekend we should expect more of these conditions to continue.
We started the week off with below average temperatures with low dew points, but that has since changed as we saw humid conditions return yesterday. Temperatures were above average for this time of year and dew points rose out ahead of a stationary front and low pressure in Canada.
Today we are starting to feel the effects of that stationary front which has advanced East-Southeastern overnight. Rainy conditions are expected to continue across Pennsylvania as we head throughout the day, with the chance for a rumble of thunder or two as well for locations in the South. A cold front is expected to pass central PA tonight into tomorrow.
As that cold front sweeps through, we can expect drier and more comfortable conditions tomorrow with partly cloudy skies. Dew points will be lower than the past two days, and temperatures will return to around average for this time of year. Beyond tomorrow, Saturday looks to stay around average temperature wise, also with lower dew points. Our next chance for rain is Sunday, as a low pressure system moves into the area bringing rain to much, if not all, of the state.
The first half of the week we saw clear conditions and average temperatures. The temperature outlook for today is expected to climb to the mid to high 80s, giving above average temperatures for the remainder of today and into tomorrow. Our next chance to see precipitation is tonight into Thursday evening with our biggest chance being throughout Thursday. A cold front will be moving in the area overnight impacting early Thursday morning bringing a line of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Conditions are expected to clear up as we head into our weekend with beautiful sunny weather for our football game. Our next round for precipitation will return Saturday night into Sunday and showers will be lingering all day Sunday.
Cooler conditions are expected to remain in place across the Commonwealth through the end of the week. Wednesday saw high and humid temperatures with showers and storms overnight. Multiple rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms rolled through from Northwest to Southeast, spreading heavy rain, plentiful lightning, and strong gusty winds. Not much rainfall fell in Centre county with state college recording 0.14 inches of rain.
Stepping outside for Thursday will feel humid as we have elevated dew points. There is a low chance for precipitation throughout the day but a stray shower can not be ruled out. Temperatures will drop into the evening with the low temperatures in the high 50s.
During the morning hours of Friday we will continue to have muggy conditions with relative humidity values being in the low to mid 90s. We will have overall cooler conditions which is a nice break from the past few days and humidity values will slowly tapering off into the evening hours. On Saturday we can expect showers throughout the day with temperatures in the mid 70s.
Yesterday we saw, sunny skies with temperatures still feeling like early summer as those temperatures reached into the 80s. These temperatures continue into today as temperatures slightly increase up in to the mid 80s with bringing a chance of showers tonight as severe weather is expected in the northwest part of the state with chances of damaging wind a very slight tornado risk. The rest of the commonwealth may see some isolated showers tonight with possible rumbles of thunder. With this line coming through the area, temperatures do see a slight decrease bringing much needed relief from these above average temperatures.
Yetserday brought, high temperatures and dewpoint with those temperatures feeling like triple digits in some parts across the state. Alongside the high temperatures brought a severe wetaher risk to the Comonwealth brining dmamging winds, hail, tornado warnings and flash flooding. For today, the severe weather threat continues with a much broader risk area across the Commonwealth which will continue into the afternoon hours with a slight break before picking back up in the evening hours. Tomorrow also brings a severe weaher threat, befoe the rain clesars up Friday leading into a beautiful dry weekend.
