A Washout Weekend Ahead?

Our area has experienced very wintry conditions in the past couple of days. Yesterday, lake-effect made its way all the way down to Central Pennsylvania from Erie. This caused bands of snowy conditions as well as very high winds creating a cold and miserable day.

For today, temperatures will begin to rise capping out in the low 40’s, still below the seasonable expectation. Overcast skies are expected throughout the Commonwealth as a low pressure system begins to roll in our area. Overnight, rains will begin to move into our area from the southwest, caused by the low and will last until the early morning hours. Areas in the northern portion of the state are expected to have a chance of mixed precipitation and snow. The low temperatures for tonight will be in the low 30’s and even the upper 20’s in the northern half of the state.

Mostly cloudy skies with similar temperatures will be the story for Wednesday. Heading into Thursday, there will be a chance of rain in the late overnight hours lasting, and continuing all throughout Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will become more seasonable on Friday and will remain for the rest of the weekend.
